| The Ghost Pony Gallery
is the studio/gallery for artists Trish Booth and Leonardo Pieterse. They also exhibit
other outstanding artists and host themed exhibitions. In the near future they will also host juried exhibitions and offer
workshops. Booth uses vernacular and historic architecture along with landscape to convey isolation and otherness. Representational yet surreal, her paintings inhabit a twilight zone between reality and imagination. Abstracting the images to various degrees further incorporates a sense of mystery allowing them to read as symbolic structures--as portals or refuges. Pieterse draws on his background in botanical study and his love of travel to produce delicate mixed media paintings of colorful flora from around the world. Gold leaf backgrounds add to the iconic feel of these intimate pieces. |
